2007 Scholarship Notice

All children of IBEW Local 22 members graduating from high school in the spring of 2007 are eligible for the Local 22 scholarship.

Applicants are judged on the basis of financial need, leadership and academic ability.  A $1,000 annual award will be paid directly to the student’s school account to be applied toward tuition if he/she is a full-time student carrying at least 12 credit hours.  The scholarship will only be paid to colleges or universities in IBEW Local No. 22’s jurisdiction and UNL.

All students who apply for the scholarship must submit ACT scores to the University of Nebraska at Omaha , which acts as the judge.  This test should be taken before March 1, 2006.  The winner will be selected before May 1, 2007.  UNO must be marked as one of the schools where the ACT results are sent.  Applicants must also submit a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to the College Scholarship Service prior to March 1, 2007.  UNO must also be designated as one of the recipients on this form.

Interested students should submit to Local No. 22 the application below and a list of school activities, athletics and public service activities in which they participate and any awards received.

In Summary: 1) This award is applied only toward tuition.  2) Imperative that you fill out a financial aid form in order to determine need.  3) Scholarship only paid to colleges/universities in Local 22's jurisdiction.
